Edna’s Kitchen opening in Castle Park

The former manager of St Stephen’s Church café is opening her own cafe soon in Castle Park.

Edna Yeffet Summerell will be opening Edna’s Kitchen in a kiosk that was formally the short-lived and scandal-rocked Diamond Cafe.

When she moved to Bristol in the early 1980s, Edna ran a small food business supplying Middle-Eastern dips to health shops and was the first person in the city to sell hummus.

Edna’s Kitchen currently supplies a range of products to Dig In in Church Rd, Redfield, Bristol Sweet Mart in Easton, Scoopaway in Bishopston, Wild Oats in Redland and The Relaxation Centre in Clifton.

The new cafe promises vegetarian food from the Mediterranean and beyond.
