With a research team from Oxford University showing that 99.9% of e-petitions on the Government e-petition website fail to reach the 100,000 signatures needed to trigger the prospect of a Commons debate, here are a few current Bristol petitions unlikely to be a success:
‘Remove Severn Bridge toll’ – 5 signatures
‘More flood Defenses around Chew Valley and Surrounding Area’ – 5 signatures
‘Bristol Channel Offshore Wind Farm objection’ – 118 signatures
‘Reduce First Bristol prices’ – 4,042 signatures
And here are a few that have already failed:
‘Electrify the Weston super line as Bristol is just not far enough’ – 2 signatures
‘Save Playhouse at 29 Clare Avenue, Bristol, BS7′ – 22 signatures
‘Reopen the Portishead-to-Bristol Temple Meads Railway line to passengers’ – 38 signatures
