Banksy’s modus operandi is criticised in new street art that has appeared directly underneath his famous ‘hanging man’ on Trenchard Street.

The hanging man himself even appears in the piece as well as a cartoon figure who is printing money while wearing the mask of a rat – a well-known Banksy motif that he used in many of his early stencils.

One of the other rats is holding a placard that says ‘Just Robbin Banks’, a name often attributed to Banksy.

The piece is by the Cretin Collective, which includes SPZero76, Loch Ness, Dom W, Paul Monsters and Bill Giles. It was painted to promote their upcoming show at the Weapon of Choice gallery.

Ha! Ha! Thanks for that TheWorld! Actually I wrote on the Facebook page for this hours ago explaining that it was an homage to Banksy and not a dis. I’m not sure where the writer of this article got their information, but its nice to see other people’s interpretation of our work!
