A one million pound programme providing expertise and grants for emerging and established games companies in Bristol and the South West has been launched by Creative England.
Creative England GamesLab, funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and supported by the Government’s Regional Growth Fund (RGF), is the agency’s first ever dedicated support scheme for the games industry.
The programme of investment – which includes funding, workshops and business expertise – is designed to aid and sustain the growth of the South West’s burgeoning games industry through the development of innovative games and Intellectual Property.
Working with emerging and established companies, Creative England GamesLab aims to create the conditions necessary for the most innovative and commercially astute games companies from Bristol and around the region to flourish.

If it’s anything like the Going For Growth fund then it’s a joke. Made for people that plan everything to unrealistic levels, making 100 page business plans whilst being terrified of actually starting anything.
I gave up applying when I realised I’d need to pay for an accountant to help me understand the application!
