Not content with showing fine films and emboldening talking lampposts, the Watershed now has its own brand of real ale.

Watershed Pale Ale has been made in collaboration with Bath Ales, brewed using Herefordshire hops with hints of fruity bramble.

kinda with Kevin here, seeing as I seem to remember articles condemning the building of the Sainsbury's near to Gloucester road, Britain's most independent high street... I don't mind admitting I don't give two shits about football, so I'm heartily against the proposal for a mahoosive Sainsbubs near Gloucester Road, as like in other areas (My home town Dunstable for example) building big supermarkets on the outskirts drains the life out of the high streets, and leads to empty units and small local business folks going out of business. Best of luck to TRASH!!!

We came in here last weekend for a drink. It wasn't the worst place I have been, but definitely a lot of room for improvement. Perhaps a few of these comments will be constructive :) 1. It was so bright inside, it didn't have a very comfy atmosphere with the lighting and the glitterball was just a bit odd (we all agreed). If you could maybe dim the lights a bit, maybe put some uplighters around? 2. The general atmosphere was lacking. It would be good if there were some pictures on some of the white spaces, maybe some german photos and flags and colours behind the bar? 3. There were a lot of waitresses that tended to be standing in front of the bar waiting, looking a bit lost. They were all very friendly, but could only carry one drink at a time - perhaps a tray would have been useful... The apple juice came in a standard pint glass that looked half empty. I am not sure how it is traditionally served, but for £370 (approx) I would at least expect a full glass and/or some ice... or something quirky on the side? 4. No one had any change. We watched with a bit of humour that it ended in 5-6 of the girls clubbing their change together from handbags to be able to give us the £8.50 change. Similarly, no card payment (although i assume this is just a temporary thing) 5. The food did look tasty. Perhaps though having some cooking out where you can see & smell it cooking would be great? One where you can go up and get from the grill (like those big ones over coals that cook sausages?) The smells would def attract people to eat, and then maybe buy a few more drinks? 6. The tables felt quite flimsy and were not very comfortable to sit on. 7. The music on at the time was a kind of cheesy German pop/dance music and really didn't make us want to stay for a 2nd drink. Perhaps this was just the time of evening we came? 8. The beer really was extortionate. I am originally from London and use to expensive prices but really, £5.20 for a pint is not going to encourage any Bristolians - seriously. I understand the import, but i'd really consider trying to get a couple more choices then at a lower price. We can't believe we got a round for 4, 1 drinking apple juice and it was over £20. Anyway, sorry it is so negative but I would rather give some feedback than just ignore it. I hope you find a way to may the next review much more successful. Thanks for your hospitality either way.
