Visitors to Arnos Vale will soon be able to navigate around the cemetery with the help of a new smartphone app, which also gives snippets about the cemetery’s past, present and future.
The Future Cemetery is a collaboration between Arnos Vale, University of Bath’s Centre for Death and Society and Bristol-based digital agency Calling the Shots.
The app will officially launch in September but over the weekend, it was trialled by the public for the first time.
Dodging the rain, I learnt about some of the lesser known places in the Grade II listed cemetery, gaining an insight into the history and lives of some of the people who have lived and worked there.
