The Cuban

Josie Gibson and Julian Jones were among the special guests at the launch of The Cuban restaurant in the Harbourside.

Who? Josie Gibson from Big Brother and Julian Jones the Heart FM drivetime presenter of course.

The Sun revealed in an article this year that Big Brother 1 winner Craig Phillips costs £2,500 to hire to turn up to a party, which a reporter hosted in his flat with fellow guests including weatherman Michael Fish (£1,200) and actor Richard Blackwood (£800).

I wonder how much Gibson charged to pose for photos?

Food at The Cuban is divided into tapas, paella, seafood, grill, burgers, salads and traditional Cuban, which includes chilli beef empanadas (£6.50) and a “whole baby chicken” for £14.95.

It also serves more than 150 different rums, which for many will be the principal draw here. And I can recommend the mojitos.

The Cuban is at least better than Hooters, which it has replaced in this location.

But that’s not saying much, and even the appearance of a few D-list celebrities cannot hide the fact that the Harbourside has got yet another outlet alongside Steak of the Art, Costa and Gusto that most people will choose to avoid.

It seems obvious that the Anonymous Author of this Article simply does not like “the Cuban”. But does he have to make somewhat cutting remarks about the two guests at the opening night? To refer to one of Bristols Favourites ….. Josie Gibson …. as “Gibson” is quiet frankly RUDE.

Just had another thought …. so what if the Special Guest were paid a fee? It’s part of the work that they do for Gods sake. I think that your nameless reporter is a begrudger with a very large chip on his/her shoulder.

The reporter is not particularly anonymous having put his name at the top of the article.
