Weber & Tring’s now open on the Christmas Steps sells Bristol’s finest selection of spirits.
You will find liqueurs in here that you won’t be able to find anywhere else, and if you can’t find what you’re looking for, then they’ll probably be able order a bottle in for you.
Anywhere that sells rum in a glass pistol should be celebrated:
Weber & Tring’s is the brainchild of Sarah and her husband Richard, who also just happens to be the owner of the splendid new Red Light cocktail bar on Unity Street.
The pair bring to the shop a wealth of knowledge about drinks of all varieties, with a plethora of spirits of all descriptions here other than apple-based – they’re leaving that to Bristol Cider Shop opposite.
There are more than 300 spirits, fine wines, champagnes and liqueurs here; alongside vintage glasswear, cocktail equipment and cocktail books.
The shop started life last year as a stall at the Christmas Market in Broadmead, and has plenty of plans for the future which include tasting sessions in the downstairs basement.

For those interested in such things, the cheapo offie “Drinks4You” on BS3′s North St has a large (indeed, slightly worrying) collection of spirits – largely brandy, I think – being sold in rifle-shaped bottles; possibly even Kalashnikov-shaped bottles (I am no expert in these matters, but they are certainly large).
Which got me to thinking: could this be a none-too-subtle sign designed to ward off would-be thieves and/or rivals?
