Morph Kickstarter campaign

Brand new episodes of Morph will be made in Aardman’s Bristol studios if a new Kickstarter campaign is successful.

Morph Kickstarter

“I’m amazed and humbled that even though it has been over 30 years since his birth, the little guy still has such a passionate following on Facebook and YouTube,” said Aardman co-founder Peter Lord.

“We’ve had so many people asking for him to make a comeback that I thought it’s about time we start hatching a plan.”

The plan is to make 12 new one-minute episodes. Production will start in January with the aim of finishing the episodes and releasing them online by July.

But the project will only be funded if at least £75,000 is pledged by November 28.

Backers are being given a variety of incentives, from access to a private production blog all the way to studio tours and a Morph modelled on your likeness to keep.

“I’m extremely excited,” added Lord, “we’ve never opened up our studio in this way before and I hope you all find something suitable as a memento of your contribution to the project.”

So Aardman Animations are now handing round the begging bowl. I suggest that the fact David Sproxton and Pete Lord (both multi miliionaires) are using Kickstarter to raise money for Morph is pretty disgusting, when either of them could dip a hand into their own bottomless pockets and pull out some spare change.

Why is corporate begging of any kind acceptable? Why are millionaires using Kickstarter to save them money better spent on their luxury lifestyles? Why are they using a crowd funding website to resuscitate a clapped out old brand and fill the shops with more plastic merchandise? Isn’t Kickstarter for people who actually NEED money for their projects, not bloated corporations whose coffers are already brimming? Don’t they feel ashamed?

THESE are the questions that you should be asking. Corporate begging. THAT is the real story.

@boxfish – I love how you’ve posted the same boring comment on every news-related website. Stupid troll!

Oh hello Gladys. That’s funny, weren’t you a funky little badger the last time we met?

Well, Gladys the badger, don’t you have anything better to do than chase boring trolls around the internet?

Funny thing is, I still haven’t heard you express an actual opinion about the actual subject. Do you have one? Or are you just a troll chaser?
