Bristol Cycle Festival 2013

The Bristol Cycle Festival 2013 begins today, with this weekend featuring a variety of events that include a Vintage Velo ride (below), a children’s bike repair workshop at the Bristol Bike Project and yoga for cyclists at the festival hub, Roll for the Soul.

As well as a number of rides, other events to look forward to this year include street games, theatre, speed dating on bikes, poetry readings, secret film screenings, a challenge to carry 70 pints of cider by bike for 16 miles, a “micro-sportive” involving four climbs of the fearsome Dundry Hillhill, a bicycle roundabout, head-to-head mountain bike racing in a park and much more.

Then of course on Sunday, July 21, coinciding with the second Make Sundays Special event, is the Carnivelo, the UK’s only cycle carnival.
