The bowling green on Brandon Hill was the setting for a spirited performance of As You Like It, performed as part of this year’s Bristol Shakespeare Festival by the Lord Chamberlain’s Men.
Camping chairs and rugs were the order of the day as an audience of several hundred people enjoyed Shakespeare’s early pastoral comedy in the open air.
As tradition dictates and as their name suggests, this production was performed by an all-male company.
From a summer’s evening sitting on the grass, to a summer’s evening in a cave from tonight where a new version of The Tempest will be performed.
