No. 12 Easton is a deli and cafe which goes some way to proving that the gentrification of Greenbank is heading west.
The deli options are substantial – with cheeses, pasta, oils, gerkins, meat and other assorted goodies – while the cafe side of things sees coffee from Extract and cakes which when I visited included a rather wonderful bakewell tart.
Food on the menu yesterday if you chose to stay in the former kebab shop was bacon sandwiches, waffles or Welsh rarebit.
An eclectic selection which changes daily and can be eaten alongside bang on trend design features including seating in the windows made out of chipboard and oversize light bulbs.
Licence permitting, there may soon be craft beer, wine and cider served here; an extremely tempting proposition with such a large area out front ripe for sitting outside in the summer.

Maybe I’m just getting old but are there no chairs in this place? Stools are terrible for back support (because they provide none!).
It looks like the window seating has some back support? They have only just opened too so maybe the stools are a temporary seating arrangement?
Joanna you’re definitely getting old!
Coffee no 12 despite initial high hopes hasn’t lived up to my expectations. At the start despite opening hours No 12 were erratic, which for a new business that needs to gain customers’ loyalty needs to be reliable. One time my friend and I arrived an hour before the closing time only to find all the chairs being stacked up. On another occasion my friend’s order was forgotten and then brought cold. As far as service is concerned, the wait is far too long for the simple dishes that this deli offers and I was told that once one of the waitresses has cleaned the side of customer’s place with her finger. My friend who works in the catering industry himself was absolutely mortified. Unrelentless in my endeavours I am still hopeful that these are merely teething problems and that No 12 are going to be a successful business.
Coffee no 12 despite initial high hopes hasn’t lived up to my expectations. At the start No 12′s opening hours were very erratic. A new business needs to gain customers’ loyalty by being reliable. One time my friend and I arrived an hour before the closing time only to find all the chairs being stacked up. This has recurred a number of times. On another occasion my friend’s order was forgotten and then brought cold. As far as service is concerned, the wait is far too long for the simple dishes that this deli offers and I was told that once one of the waitresses has cleaned the side of customer’s plate with her finger.
Cafe culture means most people want to sit in comfort therefore having better thought out furniture is paramount.
Unrelentless in my endeavours I am still hopeful that these are merely teething problems and that No 12 are going to be a successful business. It’s great to see another enterprise starting up in Easton.
