A Dictionary of Bristle new edition

A book that can be found on many a bookshelf of Bristol homes is celebrating its tenth birthday with a new edition.

A Dictionary of Bristle has been completely revised, updated and expanded by authors Harry Stoke and Vinny Green, with more than 50 new entries and a new cover designed by Joe Burt of Wild Spark Design in St Werburgh’s.

There is also a Bristolian Citizenship Test, with Stoke and Green expecting no less than a 75 per cent socre for those wanting to move into the city from outside the area.

Incomers can expect to be asked questions such as:

Is the M Shed…

1. Something that wasn’t named properly?
2. My Shed with a letter missing?
3. A museum of Bristol located on the historic Harbourside?
4. A place where M People keep their lawnmower?

The new edition of A Dictionary of Bristle is dedicated to Professor Colin Pillinger, “arguably Kingswood’s most famous son, and the boldest, hairiest, and most determined planetary scientist Bristol has ever produced”.

Released on July 4, A Dictionary of Bristle can be pre-ordered online from www.tangentbooks.co.uk.

  1. Sharon Plessier says:

Sounds similar to the ‘Krek waiters peake Bristle’ from way back in the ’70′s by Dirk Robson. I’ll have to look out for it.
