A timelapse video from last year’s Bristol Balloon Fiesta has been created by motion designer and video director Cieron O’Connor.

It’s fascinating to watch the balloons, usually so serene, move so quickly – and the fairground rides look absolutely terrifying.

For the technically-minded, Cieron explains: “It’s nearly all video footage sped up to anything around 5,000 per cent, with the exception of the two overviews of the mass ascents which are image sequences shot at 1fps.

“Shot on a Canon 550D and assorted lenses along with a couple of general wides with a GoPro clamped onto the tripod.”

The music is White Mischief by Penguin Cafe Orchestra.
