Bristol employment lawyer Larkin Cen failed to win the final of MasterChef last night.

After eight weeks of gruelling challenges, Larkin, who works for Morgan Cole on Victoria Street, was given the unenviable task of cooking a three-course meal for judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace.

But the 28-year-old from Ashley Down was beaten to the trophy by part-time DJ Natalie Coleman from London.

Once seen as a clear favourite, Larkin’s downfall came no thanks to Berkeley head chef Marcus Wareing, who in a recent episode called his main course “appalling” and refused to eat his mango soufflé dessert.

In one of the more infamous moments of this series, Larkin also dropped another soufflé. YouTube has it here in all its messy detail.

Larkin’s love of cooking was gained growing up with his parents who owned a Chinese restaurant in Cardiff.

He and his fellow MasterChef finalists will be appearing at the BBC Good Food Show Summer in Birmingham from June 12-16.
