A spectacular display of dancing and dramatic miming to classic hits from old to new, as well as some unknown numbers created especially for the show make up a Ladyboys of Bangkok show, returning to a specially-erected pavilion in Castle Park for their annual visit to Bristol.

All of the performers exude confidence and their fabulous enthusiasm is highly infectious. Then there are the exuberant outfits, bright colours and performers’ beaming smiles.

For me, the show was a perfect compilation of fast tempo, complex dance routines and emotive power ballads, with humorous interjections throughout, most comically in the form of Tina Turner.

The magic of the event is enhanced by the incredible hairstyles, immaculate make-up, stunning outfits and awesome shoes.

Although some performers lip-sync more seamlessly than others, the production overall sees exciting choreography executed with high energy and enviable skill in platform heels.

The evening provides an exhilarating mix of sparkle, sex and sass, alongside comedy and even some sincere heartfelt emotion. Be warned, however, audience participation is to be expected, as red-faced individuals are reluctantly seduced on to the stage: beware the bashful.
