A new short film set in a Bristol of the near future about augmented reality graffiti art has been released online. Paintwork was written by science fiction author Tim Maughan, directed by Alan Tabrett, has music by dubstep artist Forsaken and was made for New Scientist’s Arc magazine.
Paintwork follows graffiti artist 3Cube as she illegally transforms an advertising billboard into a work of high tech street art. Its makers say that it “poses questions about the relationships between technology, advertising and the control of public spaces”.
