Bristol Temple Quarter Enterprise Zone. Not currently the most exciting part of the city. The big top behind Temple Meads has been taken down for the winter and the area earmarked for an arena remains empty, populated by a few polytunnels rather than Polly Jean Harvey.
Even the yellow and blue ferries that used to brighten up the Floating Harbour (right) are no longer afloat.
But all is not lost. Click here to have a play with mosaics made up of present day and historic photographs taken in the area that stretches from the Paintworks to the Dings.
There is certainly potential here, and that potential and future spirit of playfulness is being harnessed on Friday evening for City Running, a one-off event which will give artists three hours to explore the Enterprise Zone and make a completely new artwork in response to their explorations.
This new collaborative initiative, first held in Brighton, is coordinated by Watershed with funding from Arts Council England, and produced by Watershed, Knowle West Media Centre and MAYK, the team behind Mayfest.
The 30 artists taking part in City Running include writers, musicians, performers, visual artists, designers and photographers.
Working independently or together, the artists will set off from Paintworks at 9pm to collect inspiration and ideas, returning an hour later to spend two hours making new work which will then be shown to an audience at midnight.
Tickets for the event are free and can be reserved at www.cityrunning.eventbrite.com.
