Bristol Old Vic’s historic auditorium is back in business from next week, and when Wild Oats begins its run it will not just be theatre fans celebrating. To mark the occasion, Cotham Hill restaurant Flinty Red is taking residency in the first floor cafe bar, providing tapas, charcuterie and cheeses accompanied by expertly chosen wines from the same people behind Corks of Cotham.
There will be a pre-theatre menu every evening for the first few weeks, as the King Street theatre eases its way into its first season in its brand new space, nearer its original 1766 set-up than for the last two centuries or so.
A Bristol Old Vic spokesperson said: “By mid-October we hope to be providing an all-day service of breakfast, lunch and dinner, accompanied with tasty baked goods and fresh coffee. Flinty Red will also be working with our staff to make sure our bars are stocked with a marvellous selection of drinks and snacks.”
