Five out of 13 letters on the front of The Golden Lion pub on the Gloucester Road in Bishopston have now fallen off.
Surely not a good sign.
Puns aside, the pub whose outside and inside walls are both covered with pictures of lions, is in need of a facelift.
Live music remains a big draw here, and a more recent reason to walk through the door is thanks to a new addition in the kitchen.
Burger Theory arrived at The Golden Lion last month, offering 16 from £5, with meat from Buxton Butchers in Winterbourne, cheese from Dorset’s Leopard Dairy, vegetables from The Community Farm in Chew Magna.
The 36-hour proven soft buns come from Joe’s Bakery just next door, with its own sign still intact.
