The Christmas Design Temporium, a pop-up shop staffed by artists and makers from Made in Bristol, opens today at the Architecture Centre.

The shop, which will be open until December 22, sells gifts including cards, jewellery, prints and ceramics.

The Architecture Centre will be open between 10am and 6pm for the duration of the pop-up, with a launch event on Thursday evening where festive nibbles will be on offer while you browse.

My other half and I went for a late lunch on the 18/10/14 as he had tried it recently for a quick bite and found it very pleasing. However, the experience for me wasn't the same. The menu looked delicious and well priced with lots of variety and I couldn't decide what to order! When I had finally decided I went down to the counter to order (having not been here before), and was told that it was table service here and could we wait at the table. So we dutifully did as we were told, and waited a full 15 minutes with no one coming to our table at all before I decided I really would like a drink a hopefully some food to go with it. This didn't go down well, but our order was taken. 30 minutes later, we wanted another coffee whilst we waited for our food (fully prepared that there would be a bit of a wait for food as it was a Saturday), as I ordered the second coffee at the counter - as no one had been to our table for a full 45 minutes - I politely enquired as to how long the food wait would be, expecting a response of "we are having a bit of a rush, but it shouldn't be more than 5 minutes". However, the lady/girl behind the counter making the coffees launched into me and started ranting about how she had been telling everyone there was a wait for food and I would have known that had we ordered via table service. I was very taken aback and was trying to be kind in not pointing out the obvious that there had been no table service in 45 minutes. I tried to talk to her about it, but she was in full vent and essentially accusing me of rushing her and blaming me for coming to the counter, all the other staff were meekly staying quiet not quite sure what to say. I went back to my table bewildered and enraged, and most of all disappointed. When the food did turn up it was delicious, however, the service was absolutely despicable and I shall sadly never be going there again.

Dear Whomever: When i went to college in Clifton, I often used to go there for fun. It is quite close to Bristol University. Park Street is close by, and about four of us, during lunch hour, used to stand still, part way down the hill, and point excitedly to the sky, as if there were something of interest to look at, and then walk away leaving a gathered crowd staring at something that was not there. i was reminded of this when a friend from Wyoming sent me some fun photos - one being a green street sign called NEW LIFE LANE with a sign immediately below it showing DEAD END.I fondly recall climbing the spiral steps of Cabot Tower on Brandon Hill, and the hot springs down at Hot Wells.Thanks a Million Derek BawnThis is the first time i have seen this site.
