It’s been a busy time recently on the Harbourside.
A 24-hour gym appeared, Spike Island took over an empty unit for its first gallery space outside of their permanent home and At-Bristol opened their ice rink on Millennium Square, sure to become ever more popular as Christmas approaches.
Then there was the race to open between The Cuban and Steak of the Art. Neither should have bothered; they’re both as bland as each other.
Among all of this activity, The Living Room has become the elder statesman of this continually regenerating area of Bristol.
As the nights draw in, The Living Room has recently launched a new menu featuring lots of comfort foods, with 10p from each dish sold going to Warm Up For Winter, a charity equipping vulnerable elderly people with cookery skills and information and equipment packs to help them through the winter months.
Options include beef and ale pie with braised red cabbage and creamed mash potatoes; polenta, goat’s curd and truffle honey fig; and sticky soy pork ribs.
