Kazoos were handed out to the first 13 people through the door of Opus 13, a classical music shop which opened yesterday on St Michael’s Hill.
Opus 13 desribes itself as “Bristol’s notable music shop”, and its shelves include classical CDs, printed music, books about music, concert tickets, accessories and exam music.
A few hundred yards away in the Antlers gallery on the Christmas Steps, this week sees the appearance of pop-up shop Nothing But Navy.
The name says it all, with products ranging from pencils to screen-printed cushions in one colour only from a shop which has its origins in Stroud and has hosted several pop-ups in London.
