A slide from road level and a cafe within a double-decker vintage Bristol bus are among new plans for the future of the Bearpit.

The sunken area underneath St James Barton roundabout could be in for a dramatic overhaul if plans drawn up by the Bearpit Improvement Group come to fruition.

Funding has already been secured for much of the proposed scheme, which will see improved access to and within the space, with opportunities for fun, food and trade, as well as enhancing the greenery.
