Jingaloo’s first children’s music class at Kudacan in Bishopston takes place on Friday, November 8 (more details here); and on Saturday, November 9, Kerina and James will beĀ giving free 15-minute taster sessionsĀ on piano and guitar at Mickleburgh’s music shop on Stokes Croft (more details here).
Here are Kerina and James’ top-five Bristol favourites:
St George’s
“This is a great place to visit for a variety of concerts but its got a personal touch too. We recently saw Stephen Hough perform there, a world-renowned pianist, and he played brilliantly, but the best bit was he was in the bar to meet and chat to afterwards! St George’s was also the home of Kerina’s yearly school concerts when I was growing up, I have so many great memories from some of my first performances.”
At-Bristol
“Amazing science centre, perfect to inspire any child (and grown ups!). We love music but we love science too, and we believe in fun education which At-Bristol definitely is! All the exhibits are hands on so its very difficult not to be engaged, and it has one of the best planetariums in the country with plenty of presenter-led shows daily.”
Mickleburgh’s
“A huge music shop full of stacks of music for all instruments and all levels, perfect for any musician! It also has a great range of guitars and percussion instruments. However, our favourite bit is the first floor, which is completely covered in pianos, ranging from second hand uprights to brand new grands. The staff are friendly and open and are happy to let you have a play.”
Sitting on Brandon Hill
“Brandon Hill gives a great view of all of Bristol, we could sit up there for hours. It’s a tiny area of peace in the middle of the city, and it’s got an ice cream van too! What more could you want?”
Pizza Provencale
“Our favourite local place to eat out. The pizzas are delicious and huge, which means that you have to share with a friend so it’s affordable too!”
