Bristol is the best city to live in the UK for wealth and happiness, according to a survey from Money Supermarket.

The city has one of UK’s lowest unemployment rates and has experienced the highest growth in disposable income.

The average salary here is £22,293 – above the UK average of £21,473, and the third highest of the 12 largest UK cities.

But it didn’t need a price comparison website to tell us that Bristol is great. This photo of drummers, Big Jeff and assorted dancers on the centre is all you need:

For the gig goers who are not over six foot tall and can’t see past Jeff at small gigs when he stands centre stage at e.g. the Louis or Start The Bus and who also pay for their tickets rather than tweeting requests for guest list or hanging about before soundcheck to ask bands for guest list Big Jeff is not one of the reasons Bristol is a great city. Sorry for not promulgating to the Big Jeff is a legend myth.

With an attitude like that, you could learn a lot from Jeff.

It’s hardly Jeff’s fault that he’s tall! Does that mean he’s not allowed to go down the front and dance in your bitter world? He doesn’t occupy the whole of the front of the stage, and if you are that concerned then get to the gig earlier and secure your own place at the front.

As for getting on the guest list, it’s always been my experience that artists love Jeff and are only too happy to have him at their gigs. Beans On Toast even has a song complaining that Jeff never goes to his gigs.

Have you ever looked at Jeff’s twitter feed where he is relentlessly requesting guest list from bands he doesn’t even know? And this includes festival tickets. Being an obsessive music fan is no excuse for blagging to that degree. There are plenty of people who go to as many gigs as Jeff and PAY for tickets.

I get to gigs early enough to stand at the front however in a small venue sometimes that’s not possible, no matter how early you get there. Have been to gigs upstairs at the Thekla where Jeff has stood right in front of the artist performing, obscuring the view for pretty much half the room. Considerate?

As for all the bands really love Jeff and are happy to give him guest list? Really? There are plenty who don’t and who aren’t. But feel obliged to sort g.list out because they know the bad publicity they will get if they don’t after it gets mentioned on social media.

Bitter? Well that’s quite an assumption to make.

You know why all the bands love Jeff? Cause his heart’s actually in it. He always dances, he always gets right up to the front, and it makes them feel more appreciated. Plus he’s a wealth of obscure musical knowledge.

Edie has it right, Jeff is an absolute annoyance at gigs

    Haters gonna hate…

If you actually ever talk to Jeff you’ll realise he has a heart of gold and music is his life. Why would you want to tread on someone’s dreams?

Maybe if you watch the documentary you might appreciate him a lot more http://www.bigjeffdocumentary.co.uk/

I have watched the documentary. And spoken to Jeff. Expecting common courtesy and finding someone irksome when they constantly beg for free entry to gigs from bands, promoters and venues and then goes online and says he thinks bands should pay him for promoting them is hardly treading on someone’s dreams. Neither is refusing to perpetuate the ‘Big Jeff is a Legend’ myth. There are plenty of people as obsessed with music as he is, difference being they don’t beg or blag and expect payment for attending a gig. They buy their tickets.
