Redcliffe Caves is among the venues taking part in the Bristol Festival of Literature 2013, which opens today with a diverse programme including Toby Litt talking to Nikesh Shukla in the Parlour Showrooms, the festival hub; and the Bristol Short Story Prize Award Ceremony on the fifth floor of the Arnolfini.
Other highlights of the festival, which runs until October 27, are foraging with The Self-Sufficient(ish) Bible autor Andy Hamilton, who has just written a new book about beer; an apocalypse in Henleaze; Easton Cowboys; street art; and Andy McNab talking 20 years after the publication of Bravo Two Zero.
