Here’s a quiz question for you on the final day of Bristol Beer Week: what is the only Bristol pub that brews its own beer on-site?
Zero Degrees may not strictly be a pub, but it holds the distinction of brewing its own beer in a microbrewery located on its first floor mezzanine level.
(For those with longer memories, the answer to the question is Smiles’ The Brewery Tap which used to be almost opposite on the other side of Colston Street and is now the Colston Yard.)
The name Zero Degrees comes from the first Zero Degrees which opened in Greenwich.
As well as beer, pizza is a popular option here in a bar and restaurant which has three different balconies, one in particular with a panoramic view over Bristol.
This building once housed Bristol’s trams and was turned into its current usage by Bristol mayor George Ferguson back when he was an architect.
Zero Degrees, 53 Colston Street, Bristol, BS1 5BA. 0117 925 2706.
