Last day of the Gromit queue

Like the Banksy show at Bristol Museum in 2009, the queue for The Greatest Dog Show on Earth has become as much a part of the exhibition as the exhibits.

Some people queued for up to six hours over the weekend to see the 80 dogs that formed part of the Gromit Unleashed trail and an 81st made for Visit England.

Despite many pleas for an extension, today is the last day of the exhibition at the former Habitat store on Queen’s Road, with doors open from 9am to 8pm.

The next time the sculptures will be seen in public will be at the auction at Cribbs Causeway on October 3, when a lot of money will be raised for the Grand Appeal’s £3.5 million fundraising campaign to support the expansion of Bristol Children’s Hospital.
