“Failure is always the best way to learn,” sang Kings of Convenience on ‘Quiet is the New Loud’.
Failure is the theme of this year’s TEDx Bristol, part of a global community of events that ask people to give an 18-minute talk about their chosen subject. It’s as simple as that.
On November 11 at the Colston Hall, Bristol speakers with a wide variety of experiences and backgrounds will share their tales of all manner of failure, and how failures large and small have shaped their ideas, outlooks and businesses.
TEDx Bristol volunteer Kara de los Reyes said: “We’ll be asking our speakers, delegates and the wider community to question the way in which they approach and react to failure.
“Are you with Steven Wright in thinking that ‘If at first you don’t succeed, destroy all evidence that you tried’?
“Or are you of the same mind as Truman Capote, believing that ‘Failure is the condiment that gives success its flavour’?”
