Judging by the number of people both inside and outside the Canteen on Stokes Croft on Tuesday morning, you would think that breakfast has long been a popular option.
In fact, breakfast has only been served for less than a week, with the popular evening venue now open every day from 10am.
It’s a simple offering at the moment, but breakfast is one of those times of the day when more choice is strictly unnecessary.
A homemade granary bap comes with a choice of smoked back bacon, plain pork sausage, or roast portobello mushroom and tomato. They all cost £3.50, while it’s 75p more if you add a fried egg or nutmeg spinach.
When I visited, the other options were homemade date and walnut granola (£4) and scrambled eggs (£5).
