When he couldn’t find anywhere else in Weston-super-Mare that made a decent latte, Simon Cole decided to open his own cafe.
And the building that he found was an intriguing one: a former post room and later a store room at Weston-super-Mare railway station.
I stumbled across the cafe completely by accident last week. It was the last thing in this location that I expected to find, but it was a most pleasant surprise.
Artwork covering the walls is all available to buy, while a large selection books can be exchanged for free or purchased for one pound.
As well as the lattes and other coffees made with love and care by Simon, there are cakes made by his wife. Other food includes cooked breakfasts, sandwiches, paninis and soups.
You don’t get gems much more hidden than this.
