Bristol company Simple Simon have been shortlisted twice in the prestigious Restaurant and Bar Design Awards.

No Bristol designs are featured this year, but the Paintworks-based company’s designs for Graze in Bath and Fire Island in Cardiff have made it onto the shortlist in the categories “Restaurant or bar in a transport space” and “Standalone bar or club”.

The awards are open to restaurants and bars across the world, with entries from as far afield as China and Australia.

But there is also one entry closer to home. Hall & Woodhouse in Portishead, designed by London firm Mackenzie Wheeler, has made the shortlist in the pub category.
