Hello Lamp Post coming soon

July is gearing up to be an intriguing month in Bristol.

While 80 Gromit statues won’t be difficult to find, there will be hundreds more objects to find even more easily – this time with us constantly but from July 15 able to communicate for the first time.

Lamp posts, post boxes, phone boxes, anything on the streets of Bristol with a number on them, will be able to strike up conversations using text messages as part of Hello Lamp Post.

A unique code on each object is texted to a number, with the more people interacting and taking part, the more the once inanimate objects will say.

Pan Studio, the Watershed’s inaugural Playable City winner, were given a brief and £30,000 to turn cities into playable spaces.
