Given the size and care this piece too, I doubt this was vandalism. I expect that the building occupier was complicit. If so, I’d sooner see a thousand witty, well-drawn murals than standard, boring advertising occupying wall space.
What’s more, this being Stoke Croft, graffiti murals are not so much tolerated as encouraged. It’s what makes the area unique and is a visual expression of how involved local people are in their community.
I’d enjoy reading your explanation, Steve, of in what way this constitutes ‘vandalism’.
Where exactly is this graffiti? I took a stroll down Stokes Croft – expecting to see it on the derelict building between Kino and the Canteen – but I couldn’t find it!
That’s exactly where it was – on the side of the Carriageworks. But it’s already been painted over.
