We are not allowed to call it an artist’s impression, so here instead is a “spatial framework” of the site of a future Bristol Arena, which has taken a step nearer to becoming a reality this week with an £80 million funding bid.

The bid has been jointly put together by the city council and the Local Enterprise Partnership, hoping to get a slice of the government’s Regional Growth Fund cash.

Around £50 million will go towards the £80 million arena on a former diesel depo next to Temple Meads. The rest of the money would go towards redeveloping the Colston Hall.
