Lee Haskins to fight in Bristol in April

A major championship fight will be held in Bristol for the first time this century when Lee Haskins challenges for the British bantamweight title at the City Academy in April. It will also be the first time Lockleaze-born Haskins has fought in his home city since 2007.

30-year-old Haskins, the Commonwealth super-flyweight title holder, will be fighting Newcastle’s Martin Ward.

The last major championship fight in Bristol was in 1998 when Stapleton’s Glenn Catley beat Neville Brown to win the British middleweight belt.
