First a festival, then a market stall, now Grillstock want to open a cafe and shop on the Clifton Triangle. The property they are looking at, next door to Mbargo and the entrance to Triangle Walk, has been vacant since 2011. Grillstock are currently trying to drum up support for it receiving permission to open.
The proposal is to provide a delicatessen/hot food and drink retail outlet for both consumption on and off the premises, in plain English a cafe which will serve their meaty sandwiches, rolls and salads, and also sell their own brand range of sauces and barbecue equipment.
As part of the planning application, it is stated that “Grillstock is an ambitious local company who are keen to expand and following the successful opening of a Grillstock venue in Bristol’s St Nicholas Market, the company is keen to have a Clifton-based venue where it can cater for the lunchtime trade as well as the evening market”.
