The ancient tradition of apple rolling will be revived on Saturday, October 20 on the Christmas Steps as Bristol Cider Shop celebrates Apple Day. Apple rolling competitions will be held at 2pm for children, and 2.30pm for adults, with the chance to win a barrel of cider.
To commemorate this historic event, this week’s top-five Bristol favourites come from Pete Snowman from Bristol Cider Shop, who is in no way a fan of self-promotion.

“Well I would say that wouldn’t I! We do have the best range of cider in Bristol though – over 100 at last count – as well as cider brandy and lots of other cidery things.”

The Coronation Tap, Sion Place, Clifton
“A deservedly great reputation for live music, but is equally famous for drunken students and the eye-wateringly strong Exhibition, so potent it’s only served in halves!”
