A mysterious new billboard advertisement has appeared near to the arches on Cheltenham Road. It is the handiwork of Brandalism, “the world’s first international, collaborative subvertising project”, who have put artwork over ads in cities across the UK over the last few days.
There are more than 100,000 large scale billboards in the UK, and the Brandalism website declares: “These are the focus and canvases of the Brandalism project and approximately 50 billboards will be reclaimed for the communication of art works, ideas and messages that subvert these spaces and the expectations of the viewer.”

I think they need to tighten up their ‘message’ a little!
This is (more specifically) the work of an artist called Robert Montgomery. It isn’t supposed to be a message, it’s basically poetry, currently he’s exhibiting his work all over Berlin and I guess they’re extending it to other cities. There’s a good article on him here : http://www.coolhunting.com/culture/robert-montgomery-echoes-of-voices.php
yeah I like this. not that it can make any sort of a change against the powers that be, but perhaps gives people who care, a little glimmer of hope and feeling of connection for a little while.
