AlexYour statement that Avon Crescent is "hardly used by HGV traffic" is quite wrong. Observe the volume of heavy traffic during the week! Underfall Yard is also part of the 'Harbourside Walk' but it is quite often closed to pedestrians due to dangerous works. It is a working yard, and not a public right of way. There are notices up to this effect.

Thanks for taking the time to write this lovely piece on St Werburghs! I have learnt a lot - really interesting little facts & a few things I will keep my eyes out for when walking through!I also learnt from the comments that there are a few knobheads around the area who can't seem to grasp that polite suggestions & adding to information is a good way to develop a webpage rather than going mental from behind a computer at someone who is trying to collate some local information!Some people eh?! Bet they are the life & soul of the local area!!!

The image entitled Birdcage Walk is historically incorrect, although most people now refer to it as Birdcage Walk but the image shown is actually of Church Walk, through the St Andews churchyard.The correct Birdcage Walk is the diagonal avenue through Victoria Square, Clifton, where people used to sit with their Birdcages on the low walls at either side of the pathways, basically promenading their best birds.
