Mark Ronson in Bristol

Free beer handed out, a huge dog lying on the floor by the counter and an exclusive 12″ written and recorded by Duran Duran star Nick Rhodes only on sale in Rise yesterday afternoon. Mark Ronson was at the Clifton Triangle store before his gig at the Bristol Academy and he wasn’t doing things by half.

Ronson was at Rise with some of the guest artists from his new album Record Collection, which hit the shelves yesterday. One of his most excitable cohorts was Kyle Falconer from The View whose lyrics feature on current single The Bike Song, messing about with the others behind the counter signing copies of the new album and promotional posters.

Later that night, Kyle, Spank Rock, Alex Greenwald, Stuart Zender, MNDR and Rose Elinor Dougall all joined Ronson on stage at the Academy alongside special guest star Boy George, who according to Ronson “brought the house down”.

Boy George tweeted: “Great gig in Bristol with La Ronson and the crew, yeah, thrilling to be part of it!”
