Just in case you haven’t noticed, Mark Ronson has got a new album out today. It just so happens that he is also playing at the Bristol Academy this evening alongside The Business International, his latest assortment of guest musicians who feature on Record Collection.
To mark these two momentous events, Ronson will be appearing at Rise on the Clifton Triangle at 5pm this afternoon with some of his cohorts, playing some records that have influenced his new album, talking to shoppers and signing copies of Record Collection on various formats.
In recent interviews, Ronson has evangelised about the joy of rummaging through music in independent music stores. In Bristol, one of the few places where we can still do this is in Rise, that also hosts occasional special events like this (Carl Barat is playing instore on October 6).
The newly white-haired man himself (@iamMarkRonson) tweeted this earlier today: “2day @RiseBristol @ 5pm, me, @Alecksu, @RoseDougall, @MNDRand more will be signing loads of stuff. @Alecksu may even play an impromptu set”
Look out for photos here on Bristol Culture tomorrow.
