Final year students at Bristol’s world famous circus school Circomedia are next month hosting a two-part finale. The conclusion of Circomedia’s first two-year degree programme will see two performances, part one at the Old Vic between June 3 and 5, and part two at Circomedia’s own St Paul’s Church in Portland Square between June 10 and 12.
Part One of The Final Stage will see seven different performances follow seven very different interpretations. “Expect show-stopping trapeze; theatrical juggling; impressive blends of acrobatics and physical theatre; very messy culinary juggling; alluring aerial burlesque and a moody combination of ball juggling and dance.
“With Circomedia’s signature energy and themes ranging from coping to the figure of Eve, to separation and break-ups, what show would be complete without a physical theatre whodunnit set in a fishing village?”
Part Two has been described as “an aerial extravaganza”. “In an exciting showcase of circus technique expect spectacular routines in Corde lisse, Spanish aerial, cloud swing and more. With on-the-spot improvisation and an aerial romance thrown in the mix it’s guaranteed to be an unmissable show.”
Tickets for both Parts One and Two cost £10 (£8 concessions) from the Bristol Old Vic box office on 0117 987 7877.
