It’s not everyday that a Mercury Music Prize nominee entertains the lunchtime crowd milling about Corn Street. The busker by Trailfinders this afternoon could easily have been any other struggling singer songwriter, but this particular wandering troubadour was folk star Seth Lakeman on his fiddle, accompanied by a friend on acoustic guitar.
There was also someone else discreetly filming the whole thing. I understand that it will form part of a video journey from Seth’s home in Devon to London which will be the story of the video for his new single.
I wish I could have stayed for longer as the music sounded fantastic and Seth and friend were drawing quite a crowd. But I had to rush, not before grabbing the EXCLUSIVE photograph below. Visit Seth Lakeman’s official website here. He is also playing Komedia in Bath on Friday.
Great photo and report! The friend is regular band member Benji Kirkpatrick.
They are indeed travelling round filming for a video and playing little impromptu busking sessions as they go. Here they are on Dartmoor yesterday http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/album.php?aid=137952&id=12030594363&ref=mf
Friend is Benji Kirkpatrick who is part of Seths band.
