World record attempt in Bristol

More than 1,670 people dressed as pirates are needed to make their way to Bristol Rovers’ Memorial Stadium tomorrow to break the world record for the highest number of pirates in one place. People are asked to arrive at the stadium at 10.30am.

To break the record, people must be wearing a strict dress code:

¤ Pirate style hat or bandana/kerchief
¤ An eye patch
¤ A pirate accessory: sword, hook, musket, skull and crossbones flag, or parrot
¤ Appropriate shirt: striped shirt, white t-shirt or shirt.
¤ Appropriate trousers: pantaloons, tatty trousers or rolled up trousers.

2) All participants must be in position simultaneously and remain so for 10 minutes.
3) A loud start and finish signal recognised by all participants must be used.
4) All participants must wear the costume for the entirity of the attempt.
5) Two independant witnesses must confirm the exact and final figure.
6) Participants must print and sign their name in a logbook. Children under 18 years old must be countersigned by their parent/gaurdian.
