Preview: Mark Kermode talk

****Apologies. This event is on February 22, not tonight, January 22. Sorry. To wet your appetite, however, there is an interview with Mark Kermode in today’s Times here.****

Cinema buffs looking for something to do tonight should make their way to the Watershed at 6pm to catch a talk by film critic Mark Kermode. It is a dastardly ruse to promote his new book, It’s Only a Movie: Reel Life Adventures of a Screen Obsessive.

Kermode is best known for his film reviews with Simon Mayo on Radio Two and now on Five Live. He is also co-presents The Culture Show on BBC Two.

At tonight’s talk he promises to speak about being handbagged by Helen Mirren and being thrown out of the Cannes Film Festival for heckling in very bad French. “Outspoken, opinionated, and never lost for words, Kermode gives an hilarious account of a life obsessed with film,” says the blurb.
